EASY 5 MINUTE QUESO CHEESE DIP/SAUCE
INGREDIENTS:
2 cups grated medium cheddar cheese
1/4 cup whole milk, more if you like it thinner
1 tablespoon butter
1 tablespoon flour
1/4 tsp onion or garlic powder (Try my Freeze Dried Roasted Garlic Powder!)
1/4 tsp salt
1/8 tsp cayenne if you want some bite
***Optional: small 4 oz can green chilis, a handful of our Freeze Dried Jalapeños or a can of Rotel tomatoes (they really add a lot of depth to this sauce!)
INSTRUCTIONS:
Melt butter in a saucepan and whisk in the flour. Continue to cook over low heat for 1 minute.
Slowly add the milk and continue stirring for 1-2 minutes until slightly thickened.
Add onion powder, salt and cheese, milk, and continue cooking over low heat until cheese is thoroughly melted - stirring frequently.
If using, stir in the green chillis, Freeze Dried Jalapeños or Rotel.
Add more milk if you want a thinner dip/sauce.
Serve immediately.
