SAUCY BRAISED CAJUN BEEF

Grab your apron and spice up your taste buds with my Saucy Cajun Braised Beef recipe! This dish is all about bold flavors with it's rich savory sauce and tender meat that will leave you craving for more.  Feel free to adjust the amount of cajun seasoning for an extra spicy kick.  Serve it over creamy mashed potatoes or rice! 

4-6 Servings

INGREDIENTS:

  • 2 lb boneless beef blade or chuck roast, cut into 1” cubes

  • 2 tsp salt & 1 tsp black pepper ( or 3 tsp Her Copper Kitchen House Seasoning)

  • 2 tsp olive or avocado oil

  • 1/2 green bell pepper, diced

  • 1/2 red bell pepper, diced

  • 1 large onion, diced

  • 3 stalks celery, chopped

  • 4 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 cup diced tomatoes

  • 2/3 cup beef stock

  • 2 tbsp  tomato paste

  • 3 tbsp Frank’s RedHot® Hot Sauce (or more to taste)

  • 1 tbsp Cajun Seasoning (or more to taste)

    *My favorite brand is Slap Ya Mama Cajun Seasoning

DIRECTIONS:

  1. Season the cubed beef with the salt & pepper or Her Copper Kitchen’s House Sessoning.

  2. Heat the oil in a large heavy roasting or braising pot. Add the beef in a couple batches and sear on all sides. Remove the beef to a bowl and set aside.

  3. Add the bell peppers, onion, celery, and garlic to the pot and sauté for 3 minutes. Stir in the tomatoes, tomato paste, Frank’s RedHot® Original Cayenne Pepper Hot Sauce, Cajun Seasoning, and adjust the seasonings to your preference.

  4. Return the beef to the pot and stir well. Cover and roast in the oven for 1 hour or until beef is tender.

  5. Serve with mashed potatoes or rice.

  6. Garnish with fresh thyme or scallions and a drizzle of Franks Hot Sauce.
